Amsterdam – Sage Traveling Client Testimonials

Amsterdam Accessible Travel Packages

Hi Danielle,
Rather belatedly,I just wanted to thank you for all the arrangements you made for us for our visit to Amsterdam in April. Everything was excellent,a really good hotel with all that we needed and very helpful staff, the private tour for the four of us was a great success . The guide really gave us a wonderful tour of the city and the scooter was very helpful for all the time we were there. Everything worked very smoothly and we didn’t have to worry about anything!
Thank you so much,do pass on our thanks to the guide also. We would certainly come to you again for help with other trips in the future.
Kind regards
Angela and Graham

Trip to Amsterdam organised by Sage Traveling. Sage organised for us to be met at the Airport and it was a good welcome to Amsterdam as we were taken by a very friendly taxi driver to our hotel the in the centre of Amsterdam.

The next day Sage organised for an excellent tour guide to introduce us to Amsterdam for the first day.  Our guide met us at our hotel took us on as pleasant walking tour around the streets, bridges and canals of Amsterdam and was a delightful lady with a deep knowledge of the history of Amsterdam.

Our tour included important Jewish parts of Amsterdam and by good chance we were able to visit the old Portugese synagogue and found ourselves in the middle of an important traditional family celebration — a circumcision.  Tables were laid out in the courtyard for the family lunch afterwards.  We are not Jewish and we thought it was so kind and charming to be invited into the synagogue during a family celebration.

It was challenging moving around on a scooter in the narrow cobbled streets and pavements. Scores of bicycles blocked the pavements and cyclists hurtling by at great speeds but our guide was very helpful the whole time she was with us. The scooter we hired was excellent and anything smaller, like a wheelchair, would have been very uncomfortable and impossible for us. At the end of the tour which lasted almost three hours we were able to invite our guide to sit with us for coffee and apple pie and cream. We had tickets for the Van Gogh museum for the afternoon and our guide kindly walked with us to put us in the right direction.

The canal cruise was successful and very enjoyable. The company Sage booked had a very good lift for loading disabled people scooters.

On our last day Sage organised for us to be taken to the beautiful Keukenhof Gardens. We had an excellent driver and he looked after us very well, securing the scooter in the van.  We spent the day at the Keukenhof Gardens and we were delighted that Sage Travel had suggested the visit to these wonderful gardens full of the most amazing tulips of every colour and type as far as the eye could see.  A brilliant day out.

The hotel we selected from several on offer that had been evaluated for access by Sage Travel was an excellent hotel, and the hotel was accessible, the customer service, staff and food very good and a great central location.

In summary, a wonderful holiday with our worries about disability access all taken care of by Sage Travel and the useful travel guide for Amsterdam gave us lots of useful detail about restaurants, shops and getting around.  Sage Travel offers a very good service for individuals with disabilities.

Dear Leah,

We are back home – tired from the long flight but it was a wonderful trip. Weather chilly and more rain than we wished but loved being with our two daughters and son-in-law. All of the reservations that you made for us in Amsterdam worked out perfectly ! Having you plan the logistics was a wonderful service.

~ The hotel was wonderful – a good location, good rooms, wonderful folks at the desk and great apples for us at reception. I recommend it.

~ The scooter was a life saver, the streets are hard on a scooter and this one had some age and wear on it but it worked – that was the main thing. ( I so wish I had gotten a scooter in Düsseldorf, they are everywhere these days)

~ Our Highlights of Amsterdam with Els was excellent. She is smart, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. Please let her know how much we enjoyed our time with her.

~ The boat tour was also very good – we all enjoyed it a lot..

-Nancy, mobility scooter user
