Subway Accessibility

Some subway systems are accessible, but for the most part I avoid them. Many older systems like London or Paris are not accessible and have stairs to get down to the platforms. Some of the newer subway lines on the outskirts of town may have elevators although generally those parts of town don’t have the tourist sites. Even if a subway stop does have an elevator, they are notorious for being broken. If you are completely unable to negotiate a flight of stair, I would avoid subways.
