Accessible Paris Hotels
Finding accessible Paris hotels has historically been a challenge because accessibility descriptions on hotel websites are often vague and self-promoting. Even worse, some are just flat out wrong. Many times a hotel with a step at the entrance or an elevator too narrow for a wheelchair will be described as an accessible Paris hotel.
With Sage Traveling, disabled travelers won't have to worry about incorrect accessibility descriptions. Our disabled travel researchers have personally visited and reviewed numerous hotels in Paris and can vouch for their accessibility. Pictures show you exactly what the disabled hotel rooms look like.
Sage Traveling has the most extensive, most detailed database of accessible Paris hotels anywhere. Our Accessible Paris Holiday packages provide you with the ultimate in accessible Paris travel experiences.
Examples of wheelchair accessible Paris hotels are found below. Each of these accessible hotel rooms contain a roll-in shower or a bathtub with grab bars. They are centered in 4 areas of Paris that work well for disabled travelers: the Left Bank, near the Louvre, near Gare St. Lazare, and near the Eiffel Tower.
We don't just provide you with an accessible hotel,
we provide you with a fully accessible Paris vacation!
Paris Accessible Hotels near Louvre Museum
The neighborhood surrrounding the Louvre Museum is upscale and has magnificent Neo-classic architechture. It has flat streets without cobblestones and the best accessible transportation options of any of the Paris neighborhoods. The accessible Paris hotel rooms that I reviewed in this neighborhood are all located in the 1st Arrondisement. This large, modern hotel has 280 rooms and is the closest hotel to the elevator leading to the Chatelet and Les Halles metro stations. The hotel has 7 disabled hotel rooms, 2 of which have roll-in showers. This is the largest of the wheelchair accessible hotels near Paris Louvre Museum, and you will not have any problem finding available staff to address any concerns that you may have.
This is the closest wheelchair accessible hotel to the Louvre. It lays on a quiet street 1 1/2 blocks off of the Rue de Rivoli which runs along the Louvre Museum. This hotel also has the most accessible bathroom out of any of the wheelchair accessible hotels we visited in Paris.
These large handicapped rooms face the inner courtyard and consequently are very quiet. Both rooms have roll-in showers with a fold out chair attached to the wall. The grab bars next to the roll-in shower and the toilet are not ideally placed. Like many of the wheelchair accessible hotels near Paris Louvre Museum described on Sage Traveling, there is a restaurant in the hotel and several nearby sidewalk cafés.
Out of all the hotels in Paris with disabled access, these are the only ones we found that have private courtyards for each of the disabled rooms. The roll-in showers in these rooms work well for wheelchair users, however you should note that there are no grab bars in the shower or near the toilet.
Disabled Hotels in Paris Left Bank
The Left Bank has a village-like charm too it that you can't find elsewhere in Paris. Curving pedestrian streets are lined with sidewalk cafés and provide shelter from the metropolitan city around it. Read more about this neighborhood at the Disabled hotels in Paris Left Bank page.
This small boutique hotel has a disabled hotel room that works especially well for families or disabled travelers accompanied by an attendant. It has a roll-in shower and a loft with an extra bed. The hotel has a step-free entrance via a side door that the hotel staff can open.
Both wheelchair accessible rooms at this hotel have roll-in showers. The hotel is one block off of Boulevard Saint-Michel which leads straight to Notre Dame Cathedral. The beautiful breakfast room in the cellar is reached by an elevator.
This small hotel has one handicapped room with a roll-in shower on the ground floor. There are several outdoor cafés on the nearby street of Gregoire de Tours. The hotel is half of a block off of Boulevard Saint-Germain which has accessible bus lines.
The 8 accessible rooms at this hotel have a bathtub with grab bars and plenty of space for a wheelchair to fit next to the toilet. Hotel staff can install a chair in the bathtub which makes for an easy transfer from a wheelchair. This hotel is the closest of the Left Bank accessible hotels to the Louvre Museum.
There is a single handicap triple room facing an inner courtyard at this hotel. A staff member can put out a portable wood ramp for wheelchair users to get up the two steps at the entrance. The hotel is located on a gently sloping street and is the easternmost of the disabled hotels in Paris Left Bank.
