Venice Wheelchair Accessible Hotel with Adjoining Rooms

This 4 star hotel is one of the easiest for disabled guests to reach from the airport. The wheelchair accessible Alilaguna boats travel from Venice’s Marco Polo airport to the Zaterre dock. There are no bridges between the Zaterre dock and this hotel.
This hotel is an excellent
Venice disabled hotel for families because both of the disabled rooms connect to other rooms. The first disabled room is a junior suite that adjoins to a non-handicapped double room. The second Venice disabled adjoining hotel room is a deluxe room that connects to a non-handicapped junior suite / triple room.
The hotel has the most modern feel of all the Venice accessible hotels that we visited. It has art exhibits in the halls which it rotates monthly.
We gave this hotel a 4 Star Sage Accessibility Rating because it has step-free access and a roll-in shower. It did not get a 5 star rating because it requires notification of hotel staff to operate the wheelchair lift at the entrance.
This first room we evaluated at this hotel was the junior suite shown in the pictures below. It has more space than the normal room and has space for wheelchair users to fit on both sides of the bed.
The roll-in shower has a very small (~1cm) lip so the water doesn’t spread across the bathroom floor. The toilet has a grab bar on the near side. On the far side, disabled guests can push off of the waist-high wall next to the bathtub.
The second Venice disabled hotel room that we visited has a slightly different arrangement. Rather than have the roll-in shower next to the sink, the bidet is next to the sink. The roll-in shower is located across from the toilet providing you with a little more room.
A side entrance is located about 20 meters to the right of the main entrance. There is a 5 cm lip followed by a wheelchair lift to get up the few steps to reach the lobby. A staff member will need to activate it for you, so you’ll need for a companion to let the staff know that you need to enter the hotel.
