Essential Ravenna Accessible Cruise Excursion

Essential Ravenna Accessible Cruise ExcursionOur most accessible tour!

This half day accessible Ravenna cruise excursion uses a wheelchair accessible van and short walking distances, and is our most accessible tour in Ravenna!

Because you’ll only be walking/rolling short distances on this tour, it’s the most accessible tour we offer in Ravenna. It’s perfect if you only have half a day to see the sites, and would prefer a tour with a 5 star Sage Accessibility Rating (John’s highest rating!).

You’ll visit two sites in Ravenna’s historic city centre as well as two sites just outside of town. Your guide and drive will pick you up from the cruise terminal in a wheelchair accessible van that you’ll use for the duration of the tour before being dropped off at the ship afterwards.

Your accessible Ravenna cruise excursion will visit four UNESCO World Heritage Sites—two Byzantine basilicas and two mausoleums.

The Essential Ravenna Accessible Cruise Excursion features:

  • Convenient accessible van transportation with a wheelchair ramp
  • 4 hour walking/rolling and driving tour
  • Lively commentary by an officially-certified, English-speaking tour guide
  • Tour guide familiar with the needs of disabled travelers

Accessibility Details

The Essential Ravenna Accessible Cruise Excursion has a 5 star Sage Accessibility Rating because it follows a step-free route and uses an accessible van for transportation between sites.

When you arrive in port, you’ll go through the cruise terminal into the adjacent parking lot (shown on the left). This is where you will meet your guide and driver. Transportation will be in a wheelchair accessible vehicle with a lift (shown in the photo below on the right).

You will avoid most cobblestones along the route, like those near Piazza del Popolo (shown below), because you will be driving between sites.

Thepathway leading down to the Mausoleum of Theoderic has wide, flat paving stones. However, it is not necessary to go all the way down the path to see this beautiful monument—it can just as easily be viewed from the top of the path.
