Highlights of Bari Accessible Shore Excursion

Highlights of Bari Accessible Shore ExcursionOur most popular tour!

This 6 hour accessible Bari shore excursion includes round-trip accessible transfers and visits a castle, cathedral, and 14th century neighborhood!

Enjoy the highlights the capital city of the Apulia (Puglia) region of Italy, as your guide takes you on a step-free, accessible route through the Old Town of Bari as well as the nearby town of Alberobello.

Bari is located at the top of the “heel” on the “boot” of Italy, a prime spot for an ancient seaport that dates back as early as the 2nd century BC!

Your Bari accessible shore excursion will start in the Old Town—which is just a few hundred meters from the cruise terminal. Bari’s Old Town is small, but you can get lost in its history and rich past as your local English speaking guide takes you from the 11th century Bari Cathedral (Cathedral of San Sabino) to the Basilica of Saint Nicholas, and then finally to the 12th century Swabian Castello Svevo!

You’ll venture a short way from the Old Town in your accessible van to the Via Sparano, a pedestrian street that’s known as one of the best shopping areas in Bari.

Afterwards, you’ll end your accessible Bari shore excursion with a short visit to the neighboring village of Alberobello. Here you’ll see the fantastic “trulli”— stone houses with cone-shaped roofs that date back to the 14th century. These little houses are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and they’re the oldest known trulli in existence!
