Highlights of Ravenna Accessible Shore Excursion

Highlights of Ravenna Accessible Shore ExcursionOur most popular tour!

This full day private accessible shore excursion of Ravenna visits multiple UNESCO World Heritage Sites and includes round trip accessible transfers from the cruise port.

The beautiful city of Ravenna is home to eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, several spectacular Byzantine mosaics, and the tomb of Dante Alighieri, the 14th century poet and author of the Divine Comedy.

Your accessible Ravenna shore excursion will last a full day and will include the best that the city has to offer. When you arrive at the cruise terminal, your guide and driver will pick you up in a wheelchair accessible van with a lift. From there, it’s a short drive into the city where you’ll be treated to a quiet, relaxing day in a surprisingly non-touristy Italian city.

If you enjoy ancient churches, you’re in for a treat! You’ll visit three Byzantine basilicas, where you’ll see some of Italy’s best mosaics—the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare Nuovo, the Basilica of San Vitale, and the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare in Classe.

Your Ravenna accessible shore excursion doesn’t stop there though! You’ll also see the tomb of Dante Alighieri, the famous Italian poet who wrote the Divine Comedy. Although there is also a tomb in Florence dedicated to the beloved poet, his body actually lies here in Ravenna.

Along the way, you’ll visit the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, as well as the Baptistry of Neon. Enjoy the quiet solitude of these ornate, yet reverent structures, which are also UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

After you’ve experienced a full day in this little hidden gem of Italy, your guide and driver will return you to the cruise port before your ship departs.
