Corfu Accessible

island-of-corfu-accessibleThis 5-hour accessible shore excursion visits several villages on the beautiful Greek Island of Corfu by wheelchair accessible van.

You will see the Achilleion Palace, the villages of Kanoni, Paleokastritsa, and Lakones, the “Old Fortress” (Byzantine Castle), Saint Spryridon Church and much more on the Island of Corfu Accessible Shore Excursion. Enjoy the natural beauty and ancient history and mythology of the second largest Ionian Island!

Your accessible shore excursion of Corfu will begin when your guide and driver pick you up from the cruise terminal in a wheelchair accessible van. You will then drive to the village of Gastouri to see the Achilleion palace. This grand white palace is situated on a hill, surrounded by cypress trees and tropical plants and flowers, which adds to its impressive and mysterious presence.

Next, you will follow the coastal road to Kanoni. Enjoy the scenery and small traditional Greek villages along the way! Your guide will tell you about the legend of how Mouse Island was formed by Poseidon, the god of the sea.

The next stop on your Corfu accessible shore excursion is Paleokastritsa, which some believe to be the most beautiful village on the Island of Corfu–you can be the judge, as you take in the crystal green and blue sea and tree-lined coast.

You will stop for lunch and some local wine (price not included) in an accessible restaurant in Lakones Village, home to some of the best local specialties on the island!

You will finish the tour by visiting old town Corfu where you will see the Old Fortress, a Byzantine Castle in the 15th century. You will also tour the old town, with its narrow winding, ancient streets, French-style architecture reminiscent of Rue de Rivoli in Paris, and numerous cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy a coffee or taste some authentic Greek cuisine.

Before retuning to the cruise terminal, the last stop on your accessible Corfu shore excursion will be the Saint Spryridon Church, the main church of Corfu, and a monument for the local people.
