Pompeii, Sorrento, & Capri Handicapped Accessible Tour

John Sage’s Top Recommendation!

Visit 3 of the top highlights in the region on a single tour! Your accessible Pompeii tour will use wheelchair accessible paths to visit the world-class ruins. You’ll then take a wheelchair accessible train to the picturesque town of Sorrento overlooking the Gulf of Naples.

An accessible hydrofoil will bring you to your third stop on this Naples accessible shore excursion, the stunning island of Capri. You’ll return to the Naples cruise dock by another accessible hydrofoil.

Accessibility Description

The Pompeii, Sorrento, & Capri Handicapped Accessible Tour has a 3 Star Sage Accessibility Rating because it has step-free routes throughout the tour. Tour participants will encounter some uneven terrain in Pompeii and some cobblestones in Sorrento and Capri, but wheelchair users should have little problem.

This tour did not receive a higher accessibility rating because wheelchair users will need to be able to transfer into a car. If you would like to stay in your wheelchair during the tour, you can choose one of the tours with a 4 Star Sage Accessibility Rating: the Naples & Sorrento Accessible Shore Excursion or the Pompeii & Amalfi Coast Accessible Tour.

The tour guide for your Pompeii, Sorrento, & Capri Handicapped Accessible Tour will be waiting for you at the accessible Naples cruise terminal holding a sign with your name.

Transportation to the start of your accessible Pompeii Tour will be provided by a car for groups of two people or less. Groups between three people and seven people will use the accessible van shown in the photos shown below.

Most tourists enter Pompeii using the uphill entrance covered in enormous cobblestones (shown in the photo on the left). Your accessible tour of Pompeii will use an accessible Pompeii entrance instead (shown in the photo on the right).

Your Pompeii accessible tour route will use a variety of wheelchair ramps (shown on the left) and pavement (shown on the right) to take the most accessible path possible.

You will avoid the extremely non-wheelchair friendly paths that most tours take which involve stairs (shown in the photo on the left) and non-continuous sidewalks (shown in the photo on the right).

Your tour will include a visit to the Sorrento main square which is covered in smooth pavement (shown in the photo on the left) and a stop at a wheelchair accessible viewpoint of the surrounding bay. What a view!

Wheelchair users will be rolling over the medium cobblestones with 4 star smoothness. Your Pompeii, Sorrento, & Capri Handicapped Accessible Tour will include plenty of time to shop in the small boutiques.

The Pompeii, Sorrento, & Capri Handicapped Accessible Tour includes a ride on the cable car from the Marina Grande to the town of Capri.   Although there are steps shown in the photo on the left, there is a lift and an electric ramp for wheelchair users. It also includes a private driving tour around the island and a visit to the town of Anacapri.

There are numerous hills on the island of Capri. The Pompeii, Sorrento, & Capri Handicapped Accessible Tour uses a taxi that is easy for wheelchair users to transfer into so that they can visit the town of Anacapri and drive around the island.

When walking and rolling in Capri, this accessible Naples tour to Capri takes the most wheelchair friendly routes around the island by avoiding severe cobblestones and steps.
