Private Wheelchair Accessible Guided Tour to Dachau

This memorable 4-hour Private Wheelchair Accessible Guided Tour to Dachau is a combination of a driving tour and a walking tour. You won’t have to worry about walking/strolling long distances, but you still get to exit the vehicle and experience the historic Dachau Concentration Camp site firsthand.

On this wheelchair-friendly Munich guided tour you will learn about the history of the first German Nazi concentration camps, originally intended to hold political prisoners captive but later expanded to include Jews, and Germans, Austrian and foreign criminals. As you make your way from Munich to Dachau, your private tour guide will share fascinating anecdotes and history that will provide you with an understanding of the sites and venues you will experience, as well as background information about the rise of the Nazi party in Germany.

Once arriving in Dachau, you’ll visit the grounds of the former concentration camp. Escorted by your knowledgeable tour guide, you will learn about the events that took place here as well as the long, devastating history of the camp. Inside the Memorial Site and the exhibition, your guide will narrate you through the arrival procedure, the routine of the camp, show the historic sites and give you quotes of former inmates. If you want to, you will have an opportunity to see the crematorium.

The Private Accessible Guided Tour to Dachau includes:

Accessibility Description:

I gave the Private Accessible Guided Tour to Dachau a 4 Star Sage Accessibility Rating because a wheelchair accessible van will take you between Munich to Dachau. Additionally, the route on the walking/strolling portion of the tour is step-free. I did not give it a higher rating because most of the grounds at the Concentration Camp are unpaved and the gravel paths in certain areas may be difficult for some wheelchair users to navigate.

Your transportation on this wheelchair accessible Munich driving tour will be a clean accessible van with a lift.

Much of the grounds at the Dachau concentration camp are covered in gravel (shown on the left) and may be challenging to some wheelchair users. During this accessible tour, you will use the most wheelchair-friendly routes to visit the location.

The route is approximately 500 meters long (see photo on the left). The tour uses a special side entrance with a wheelchair ramp to enter the Dachau museum.

The crematorium is located in the left back of the property. If the 500 meters to reach it is too far to stroll/walk for you, your guide can explain it from afar instead. When visiting the crematorium you will use the ramp shown on the left. There are small lips in between the rooms. A photo of them is shown on the right below.
