Accessible Hotels in Europe
Accessible Hotels in Europe - It can be quite challenging to find out exactly how accessible a hotel is. Some, but not all, hotel search websites have check boxes for “accessible rooms”, but this can mean anything from completely step-free with roll-in shower to having to 2 steps to navigate before you get to the elevator and a bathroom door too narrow for a wheelchair. This can make it difficult to find accessible hotels in Europe.

Additionally, if you go directly to the hotel’s website you may or may not find any information on accessibility. If you send the hotel an email asking Europe accessible hotel questions, you might not get a timely response or you might not get a response at all. If you call to ask questions about accessibility, the person at the reception desk may not know the width of the bathroom door, the placement of grab bars near the toilet, or whether or not a wheelchair can fit beside the bed. Additionally, the person you are speaking to may not know English well and may be completely unfamiliar with accessibility terms like “grab bars”, “door knob”, “motion-activated door”, etc… In short, finding accurate Europe wheelchair accessible hotel information is not very easy!
