Begin your wheelchair friendly tour of Alicante by meeting your private tour guide at your centrally located hotel. From here, you will head out out on a leisurely stroll to the foot of Mount Benacantil. Here, you will use an elevator to climb the picturesque mountainside. At the top, you will enjoy an interior visit to the historic St. Barbara’s Castle. Centuries old, the bastion was the scene of many historic wars, romances and exiles. Escorted by your private tour guide, you will unveil the interesting history here and you will also have a unique opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views from 166 meters in the sky. A long ramp leads to the elevator below the caste and ramps have been installed throughout the site to help wheelchair users navigate the site.
In the Old Town, the route used is mostly flat and smooth. You will experience very few mild cobblestoned areas that shouldn’t pose any major issues. Accessible restroom stops are also present along the route.
Both the entrance to Co-Cathedral and Town Hall have accessible options that are ramped for easy access.
