Falmouth and Ocho Rios Accessible Private Driving Tour

The Falmouth and Ocho Rios Accessible Private Driving Tour will allow you to get the most out of Jamaica and enjoy its beauty and history all in one day! You will visit many of the most popular sites and attractions in Jamaica. Note: This tour is not completely step-free if you want to participate in the rafting experience.

On this accessible driving tour, the local, English-speaking driver/guide will meet you at the cruise dock in a comfortable, air-conditioned accessible van. The tour guide is knowledgeable and has plenty of experience touring with wheelchair users, mobility scooter users, or senior cruisers that simply want to take it slow. Rest assured this is not just a drive-by tour. Since this tour includes both Falmouth and Ocho Rios, the itinerary includes plenty of sites and experiences to meet your interests and accessibility needs. The Jamaican tour guide is a great host and offers a warm and friendly welcome you will not forget!

In Falmouth, you’ll have the opportunity to experience Martha Brae Bamboo river rafting, which takes place on a tranquil river that is lined with lush and tropical plants. Rafting participation will depend on the accessibility needs of the individuals (Not suitable for electric wheelchair users).

Next, you’ll have a chance to visit the unique Dunn’s River Falls. Limited mobility participants can watch from a wheelchair accessible, lush, and shaded viewing area while others hike the falls. The helpful tour.

On this tour, you will also get to visit Konoko Falls (formerly Coyoba Gardens). Here, you will enjoy a fun time exploring the beautiful setting with animals such as parrots and iguanas, island artifacts and botanical gardens. You will also see the beautiful waterfalls firsthand!

Your final stop of the day will be the Jerk Center – known for its authentic Caribbean flair and flavors. The jerk flavor in Jamaica is unlike any other place in the world! Your experienced tour guide will direct you to accessible entrances, follow accessible routes, and point you in the right direction for accessible shopping, accessible restaurants and bar locations near the beach, and more.

The Highlights of Falmouth and Ocho Rios Private Driving Tour and River Rafting has a 2-star accessibility rating. The route is mostly step-free, and your knowledgeable tour guide is familiar with accessibility in each location. An accessible van equipped with a lift will be used between the different venues. This tour did not receive a higher rating because participation in the river rafting requires that you are able to transfer out of your wheelchair and navigate some steps if you do not want the staff to carry you. Please discuss the details of this when booking the excursion with your Trip Planner.

The accessible vans in Jamaica are equipped with a lift for easy access. A smaller van is used for small groups and a larger accessible bus, also with a lift, is used for bigger groups.

For Bamboo Rafting, there are about 20 steps leading down to Martha Brae River entrance for bamboo rafting. Guests must be able to navigate these or be willing to let the staff carry disabled passengers.
