This full-day Berlin private accessible driving tour visits all the main tourist attractions in Berlin all in one day!

You won’t just be snapping pictures and admiring sights from your van, you will also be making several stops to get out and experience the beautiful sites, while your professional, local guide explains and shares the significance and history of each attractions.

Your accessible Berlin driving tour will begin when your guide and driver pick you up at your accessible Berlin hotel. From there, your exciting Berlin adventure awaits! On this 6 hour tour, you will make several stops along the Berlin Wall, the famous barrier that cut the city in two and remains a symbol of the Cold War. Your guide will take you to the last remaining sections of the wall to hear stories and facts about the process of division, daring and often deadly escape attempts and the impact of the Wall throughout history.

Next, your private accessible driving tour will lead you to other significant historical WWII attractions including Checkpoint Charlie, the famous crossing point from the American sector into East Berlin, the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Tor, and the impressive three-football field sized Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in the city centre.

After a short break for lunch at an accessible café or restaurant (cost not included), you will continue to explore other must-see parts of Berlin. Among other things, your driving tour will take you to Gendarmenmarkt, Unter den Linden, Schloss Charlottenburg and of course the famous Alexanderplatz.

Accessibility Description

The Highlights of Berlin Accessible Driving Tour has a 4 Star Sage Accessibility Rating because it is entirely step-free, and it encounters very few hills and cobblestones. It did not receive a 5 star rating because it does involve transferring to a regular seat in a spacious van during the driving part of the tour (please note, it is possible to book this tour with an accessible van at an additional cost (see below under tour details).

Checkpoint Charlie (shown in the photo on the left) and Brandenburg Gate (shown on the right) will be viewed during your driving tour in Berlin. The area around the replica of the Checkpoint Charlie guardhouse is flat and smooth and so is the outdoor area at the Brandenburg Gate. The Gate was one of the original Prussian gates to the city and was also the site of President Kennedy and President Reagan’s famous speeches.

The Schloss Charlottenburg (pictured on the right below) is one of the stops on this accessible driving tour. The Palace is the largest palace in Berlin and the only surviving royal residence in the city. From outside, you will have beautiful picture opportunities! Most of the areas surrounding the palace is flat and smooth, however, there are some areas with cobblestones.

While this accessible Berlin tour is a driving tour, there are plenty of opportunities for you to get out of the van and experience Berlin. Most neighborhoods are flat and wheelchair friendly and with the help of our private guide, you shouldn’t experience any issues navigating the streets of Berlin, if you desire (see examples below)
