This accessible tour begins at the King’s Square (Kgs Nytorv) or your centrally located Copenhagen hotel. Escorted by your tour guide, you will embark on a memorable stroll along the charming city center of Copenhagen. Explore the area called Frederiksstaden, where you’ll find several highlights including the home of the current Danish Queen Margrethe II, Amalienborg Castle, as well as the Danish Opera House. Have your camera ready as you make your way to the nearby picturesque water canal Nyhavn, with it’s colorful, picturesque houses lined up along the shoreline, as well as old boats and restaurants peppered along the water. Stroll along the historic thoroughfare Holmen’s Canal and see the glorious Holmen’s Church. First built as an anchor forge in 1563, it was converted into a naval church by Christian IV.

Your walking/rolling tour will end up at the majestic Christiansborg Palace. This is the official government building and seat of the Danish Parliament, the Danish Prime Minister’s Office and the Supreme Court of Denmark. Your tour guide will escort you on a fascinating interior visit that includes the modern tapestries showing 1000 of years from a royal perspective. Accessibility Description

The Royal Copenhagen Wheelchair Accessible Tour has received a 4 Star Sage Accessibility Rating because it is entirely step-free, and there is no need to transfer out of a wheelchair. It did not receive a higher rating because you will encounter some mild cobblestones near the King’s Square and the Castle.

The area surrounding the residency of the Queen, Amalienborg Castle, is mostly flat, however, you will encounter some cobblestones.

The area along Holmen’s Canal is flat and mostly smooth with convenient sidewalks and curb cuts as needed.

The area outside Christansborg Palace is flat but does have some mild cobblestones. These should not pose any major challenges for wheelchair users.

Cost: 1-2 PAX = 4,392 DKK, 3-4 PAX = 4,766 DKK, 5-6 PAX = 5,137DKK, 7-8 PAX = 5,510 DKK

Days of the week the tour is offered: 7 days a week

Meet-up time: Daily 9 AM or 1 PM. Note during the Winter, the Palace is closed on Mondays.

Meet-up place: The King’s Square or your centrally located accessible CPH hotel.

Dress code: Weather suitable clothing advised

Entrance tickets: Entrance tickets to Christiansborg Palace will be pre-pay for you. The cost will be added to your tour cost.
