Disabled Hotel in Rome

The best wheelchair accessible hotels in Rome have several characteristics in common: excellent accessibility features, nearby accessible restaurants and shopping, and a central location. With those criteria, this is definitely one of the best wheelchair accessible Rome hotels.

The Trevi Fountain is only 1 block away from this 4 star hotel, and the Spanish Steps are only a few blocks away. A wheelchair accessible bus tour stop that connects most of the tourist attractions in Rome is also a block away. Electric wheelchair users who can not transfer into normal taxis will find this wheelchair accessible hotel particularly beneficial because the accessible bus tour is one of the most affordable and accessible transportation options.

A long street called Via del Courso with numerous shops, most of which have a single step at the entrance, is nearby. The Piazza Navona has numerous outdoor accessible restaurants and is 0.5 miles (800 meters) away. Your Rome accessible tour guide can meet you in the hotel lobby to begin your tour.

This hotel has 2 rooms with roll-in showers and portable stools to sit on. The entrance is wheelchair friendly, and there is an elevator wide enough for a wheelchair to reach the guest rooms. There is a disabled accessible restaurant next door to the hotel.

This hotel has a 4 Star Sage Accessibility Rating due to the step-free entrance, elevator to reach the upper floors, and roll-in shower. It did not receive a 5 star rating because there are no grab bars next to the toilet or roll-in shower. If you need grab bars, there are other 5 star accessibility Rome hotels to choose from.

Photos of the disabled room are shown below.  There is space for a wheelchair on both sides of the bed and a desk next to the wall.

The bathroom door is wide enough for a wheelchair or a mobility scooter (77 cm / 30.3 in).

The picture on the left was taken from the bathroom door. A bidet and sink are located on the left side of the bathroom. The far corner has a roll-in shower which has a chair attached to the wall and a handheld shower nozzle. There are no grab bars in the roll-in shower. The bathroom sink is high, and wheelchair users should have no problems fitting their knees underneath it.

The recess where the toilet is located, between the shower and the wall (shown below) measures 72 cm / 28.3 in. across.

The main door to the hotel entrance has a revolving door. About 10 meters to the right of the revolving door is a push/pull door to enter the restaurant which is connected to the hotel (shown in the images on the bottom).

The accessible outdoor section of the restaurant can be reached by going down the step shown in the picture on the left or going out through the front door and around the corner using the sidewalk. The outdoor tables are covered and shown in the picture on the right.

The Trevi Fountain is only 1 block away. By staying at this hotel, you will be able to visit it at various times of day to avoid the crowds.

Accessible shopping on Via del Courso is only a couple of blocks away. Many of the shops have a single step, and many are step-free. The Spanish Steps, shown in the image on the right, are only a few blocks away from this disabled hotel.
